Oldham Li & Nie and the Action Asia Foundation sponsored a charity kayaking day at the Cafeteria Beach, Gold Coast. The Children who participated were from Camp Quality, a children's cancer charity.
The idea behind the event was to give these children an opportunity to try something they had never done before - sea kayaking. Camp Quality jumped at the opportunity of bringing laughter and fun to children who, although young, have lived difficult lives.
On Saturday, 12 November, 10 children were bussed to the beach, where they met up with the volunteers, 10 adventure racers and several staff members from OLN.
After a briefing on safety and kayaking fundamentals, the children set off into the water on their little adventure. They practiced kayaking, raced, had water fights and saw the high rises of Hong Kong from a new and unique angle.
After kayaking, the children returned to the beach, where there was a tug-o-war, followed by a wonderful lunch.
OLN would like to thank everyone who took part, and for making this unique and special day come true.
