Our History

OLN was established in 1987 by Gordon Oldham with the goal of providing both quality legal advice and practical legal solutions to the business community.

For the past ten years, the firm has been based in St. George’s Building, situated in the heart of Hong Kong’s central business district. In 23 years the firm has grown into a sophisticated and high quality legal practice which provides legal and business solutions for all commercial situations in Hong Kong and the PRC.

OLN now boasts an ever growing team of over 25 lawyers, and in 2007, it opened a branch office in Shanghai so that it can better serve its clients’ PRC business needs.

OLN is a member of Globalaw, an international network of 94 respected law firms, with a presence in over 170 countries, 70 jurisdictions and the support of 5,000 lawyers internationally.

Despite OLN’s growth over the past two decades and the broadening of its local and international client base and legal capabilities, it has continued to remain true to its founding principles of practical legal solutions for the business world and contributing to the community.
