OLN is proud to sponsor The Rocky Horror Show, which is coming to Hong Kong in October 2010.
The Rocky Horror Show is a popular British stage musical which has been running for almost 40 years and is rated as one of the British "Nation's Number One Essential Musicals". The play was adapted as the 1975 film "The Rocky Horror Picture Show".
Offering Hong Kong's ultimate Halloween experience, The Show will be running nightly at 8 pm from Wednesday, 27 Oct to Sunday, 31 Oct at the Shouson Theatre HK Arts Centre, Wanchai. For those looking for some late-night tricks and treats, a special midnight show is scheduled for Saturday, 30 Oct.
The Rocky Horror Show follows squeaky-clean sweethearts Brad and Janet who, stranded during a storm, are forced to take refuge in a nearby castle. They soon discover the castle is inhabited by an assortment of eccentrics, including Dr Frank-N-Furter, a "sweet transvestite from Transsexual, Transylvania." In a nod to the Frankenstein legend, Dr Frank-N-Furter has been diddling with DNA and creating Rocky, his own bionic beefcake.
Combining tongue-in-cheek horror with camp comedy, The Rocky Horror Show boasts a chart-topping soundtrack that includes such sing-a-long favourites as 'Time Warp', 'Dammit Janet', 'Sweet Transvestite' and 'Hot Patootie!'.
Audiences are invited to tap into their inner transvestites, don their flashiest fishnets and raid their cross-dressing closets. At each performance, the best-dressed audience member will be awarded a prize.
Presented by local theatre company Stylus Productions, this latest version features a multicultural cast of over 40 performers. The Rocky Horror Show is directed by local theatre veteran Adam Harris who has helmed such shows as Equus, Journey's End and The Merchant of Venice.
